LG Launches Black Label KE820 Chocolate

From the svelte, mocha-tastic KG800 Chocolates, LG seems to have taken a bitter bite with the new, card-sized KE820, the upgrade to the KG320. The 0.99cm thin phone isn't a slider, and although 'candy bar' would be more than a little appropriate, there's something about this new bar that isn't as appealing. A lot of that comes from the unusual arrangement of *, 0 and # keys on the keypad, but that's not all.

The KE820 gives you tri-band GSM/EDGE, 2-megapixel digital camera, a toothsome 128 MB of internal memory including a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot, MP3/AAC/WAV playback support, stereo Bluetooth A2DP, and last but not least, FM Radio. The display seems to be a grey area—it's either 144x176 or 220x176 (widescreen aspect ratio)—we've got no confirmation on that yet.

Launch dates and prices are not known at the moment.

The new Chocolate, named KU800 features a bunch of new features and clearly shows that this time it is aimed not only at the people with pure looks in mind but also ones that care about functionality. The LG KU800 comes equipped with the same touch-sensitive navigation keypad but has slightly larger dimensions. It has a 2 megapixel camera plus a secondary video call one, 3G support with streaming TV, a microSD card slot and finally, a battery with an enhanced capacity of 1050 mAh instead of 800 mAh.

Silver K800 for the secret agents

Sony Ericsson announced new "top secret" versions of the highly popular Sony Ericsson K800 and Sony Ericsson K790 mobile phones. The new "eyes only" versions are styled in silver and are featured in the upcoming James Bond movie "Casino Royal".

Daniel Craig stars as James Bond in the new 007 reel by Sony Pictures and the restyled Cyber-shot camera phones along with the Sony Ericsson M600 smartphone are put to good use in saving the world from yet another threat.

Of course, the camera phones will come with rich 007 content such as wallpapers, ringtones, and full video movie trailer. The "Casino Royale" is due to be released globally on 17 November 2006 while the special edition Silver K800 and K790 Cyber-shot phones will be available for a limited period of 3 months during Q4 2006.

London, October 12, 2006 – Sony Ericsson today announced special silver versions of the K800 and K790 Cyber-shot™ camera phones as used by James Bond in the eagerly awaited new Bond movie, Casino Royale. These exclusive new camera phones which will be available for a limited period of three months, enable the world’s most famous secret agent to stay on top of the action with exactly the same sense of style and performance as Sony Ericsson phones bring to everyday life. So whether it’s ‘enemy surveillance’ or you just want to take high quality photos and share them instantly with friends and family, the Cyber-shot™ K800 and K790 phones are a must.

Casino Royale is released globally on 17 November 2006. Daniel Craig stars as "007" James Bond, the smoothest, sexiest, and most lethal agent on Her Majesty's Secret Service. Based on the first Bond book written by Ian Fleming, the story reveals the making of the world's greatest secret agent.

The silver K800/K790 phones are a natural fit with the cool, sophisticated style of James Bond – a man who doesn’t do things by half-measures. Both are highly capable mobile phones that also provide cutting edge camera features, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with Autofocus, Xenon Flash for lowlight conditions and BestPic™, which allows the user to take nine pictures of a moving object simultaneously and choose to keep the best shot. High speed 3G data transfer then allows the user to share images easily and instantly so you can share them with friends, colleagues - or even MI6 – as you take their picture.

No special edition handset of this caliber would be complete without a host of “007”-themed content. The silver K800 and K790 Cyber-shot™ phones are equipped with Bond wallpapers, music ringtones and the full video movie trailer. The phones also offer Picture Blogging for uploading photos to a personal online blogsite & PictBridge™ for printing direct to a printer, without the need for a PC or laptop.

The special edition Silver K800 (Dual mode UMTS 2100MHZ & GPRS) and K790 (Tri Band EDGE) Cyber-shot™ phones will be available worldwide during Q4 2006.

Nokia N95

Nokia N95 is a descendant of Nokia N80 and offers a first of its kind 2-way sliding construction along with many other high-end features. The integrated GPS functionality has been becoming increasingly popular in hand-held devices. Embracing that trend, Nokia N95 comes with an integrated GPS module which working alongside with the preinstalled Maps application can help you navigate through the busy city streets as easy as you would with a in-dash automobile GPS system. Besides that, it's the first HSDPA (3.5G) mobile of the Finnish manufacturer. HSDPA is not so wide spread right now but undoubtedly it would be the leading standard for fast data transfers to mobile devices in the future. Besides HSDPA, Nokia N95 features all other current connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 3G and EDGE, quad-band GSM, stereo Bluetooth, Infrared and USB 2.0 plus a TV-out port.

The all-around musical experience is enhanced by the presence of the built-in stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm audio jack for using regular headphones, FM radio and microSD memory card slot which currently means that the mobile can accommodate up to 2GB of additional memory besides the 160MB internal one. In an attempt to turn it into an all-time reigning multimedia champion, Nokia engineers have integrated into N95 an impressive 5 megapixel camera with Carl-Zeiss optics, autofocus and the capability of recording videos at DVD-like quality.

Having in mind all that, it comes as a pleasant surprise that the mobile has rather reasonable dimensions, being slimmer and even lighter than Nokia N80. The device is equipped with a large 2.6" TFT display with a QVGA (240x320) resolution.

Nokia N95 would be available in the first quarter of 2007 and is expected to hit the shelves at a price of 550 EUR.
